With my cousin Sara visiting from Sydney, I took her to visit Paul and Christine on Waterway Routes, for a little trip along the River Great Ouse, River Cam, and three of the navigable Lodes off the Cam – some of which is now immortalised in the splendid DVD of the River Great Ouse and Tributaries.

Safely moored on the Cam after trips up Wicken Lode, Burwell Lode and Reach Lode.In the morning, we went back to Popes Corner and the junction with between the Great Ouse and Cam, so that we could film the River Cam uninterrupted.After a successful journey to Cambridge, we’ve winded and are heading back downriver, descending through Bates Bite LockSara steers us out of the lock, with guidance from Paul, while Christine works the lock controls.A short outing, but very pleasant and thanks to Paul and Christine for allowing Sara to share the little holiday.
