Cyprus forest and mountains

A walk around Troodos

A morning walk in the Troodos mountains, a circuit at around 1800m right around the summit of Mount Olympus.

The going was pretty easy, largely level but with some undulation particularly towards the end
A sea of mini cairns
It was a bit hazy but we could just see to the Akrotiri Salt Lake
I love the way the wind has sculpted this tree
We dallied with the law by doing a bit of hunting along the way – but just of geocaches so I think we were okay.
Passing one of the ski runs
Open 0900 to 1600, it said on the sign, but not today.

Venetian bridges

A visit to three of the Venetian bridges in Cyprus, including one much less frequented. The bridges were built during the era of Venetian rule (1489-1571)and are across the middle of Cyprus, carrying the road built by the Venetians to export goods from the island, particularly copper.

Elia Bridge is one of the more well known
